KAT2 instructions - error?

Andrew Moore-4
KAT2 rev D manual, page 12.

Step says

Secure the L-C board to the Control board standoffs using two 4-40 screws and two #4 split lock washers.  These lock washers go between the standoffs and the PC board, not between the PC board and screws as on the control board.

---

However, page 6 diagram of control board screw/standoff assembly clearly shows a different order: from bottom up: screw, Control board, washer, standoff.  Not what the above step says.

Is the manual wrong, or am I missing something?

Thanks,
--Andrew

Re: KAT2 instructions - error?

Andrew,

There must be a lockwasher at one end of the standoff - it is an overall
length thing, so it really does not matter which end of the standoff the
lockwasher is placed.  Do what seems right - yes, the manual says it
both ways, and that is confusing.  It is easier to put the lockwasher on
when first mounting the standoff than it is to slip a lockwasher on top
of the standoff when attaching the second board to the other end - that
is all there is to it.  The manual words are correct, the diagram is
older and shows the 'hard' way to do it.
