KAT500 fine tune question

I just picked up a KAT500 tuner and connected it up and have been able to figure almost everything out.

The only thing I can not get to work is a fine tune.   The manual says start a tune cycle within 5 seconds to get this to work.  However, I can not find the magic combination with proper timing to get it to fire off.

I am wanting to make sure I know how to use all the tools in the toolbox, but I can not figure this one out.  So I am sure that it is operator error.

Otherwise, its operation is just as described and its rock solid.   Now my W2 matches SWR with the radio and KAT500, this is a comforting feeling.
