I must be doing something stupid, but here goes...
I updated to version 1.63 earlier today from 1.58. I have the latest firmware versions on both the K3 and the KPA500. To try out the new faster tuning algorithm I tried to erase the memorised tune settings using the KAT500 utility (latest version). Choosing all bands and ANT 1 within the utility I clicked on Apply and the software thought about it for a few seconds before returning the OK button to use. However, the KAT500 appears to still have all of the original tune settings. It's the Mac version of the utility. It's not exactly show-stopping but I'm curious as to why I appear to have been unable to erase the memories as has been suggested. 73 Stephen G4SJP ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

It may be because the KAT500 is sleeping, and I need to do some KAT500
Utility work to be more aggressive about waking it up. You may need to turn off "Idle Sleep" briefly until I can make an updated KAT500 Utility available. I use a KAT500 Utility Command Tester page command macro named "IDLE SLEEP OFF" that contains ";;;SL0;RV;". I press that key a few times until I see a response from the KAT500 that includes SL0; and the firmware revision response. You may want a corresponding command Macro "IDLE SLEEP ON" that contains "SL1;SL;" Or use the KAT500 Utility Configuration page, Edit Configuration, Idle Sleep, to turn it back on. I'll be working on the KAT500 Utility this week, barring other preemptive crises.
