Hello Elliott
The KDSP2 and the KNB2 work together. The KNB2 blanker handles
pulse noises, while the KDSP2 works more on the "white" noises you
hear. Neither by itself can do the whole job, but together they work
just fine. Sometimes one kind of noise will predominate, and some-
times the other. Sometimes both occur together. It's really nice to
have the combo available to handle whatever you get hit with.
Good luck and 73

Subject: [Elecraft] KDSP2 Performance
I am thinking of adding the KDSP2 to my trusty K2. I have listened to the
.wav files on the Elecraft site and the reduction in ambient noise is
impressive. I know that the DSP is designed to handle random/thermal noise
but can anyone comment on its actual ability to handle pulse/burst noise
such as that generated by power lines etc.
Thanks es 73,
Elliott WA6TLA
