KDVR3 few questions

pd0psb
Some questions about KDVR3:

-Is this board in between dsp and ad/da converters so that it records the dsp stream directly?
-Is soundquality/sample&bitrate equal to the K3 itself without any loss?
-How many RX soundfiles can it store?
-Can it "auto-record" controlled by squelch (as a dx/call guard)?

tnx

Yes.

It uses 16-bit samples.  The DSP in the K3 is floating point.

> -How many RX soundfiles can it store?

One continuous 90-second loop.

It also stores 8 messages of up to 15 seconds each.

> -Can it "auto-record" controlled by squelch (as a dx/call guard)?

Not at present.

To add to this, I have a KDVR3 and it sounds better than a PC or any DVR
I've used in the past.

Re: KDVR3 few questions

Agreed Terry. The KDVR3 is very good. Transmission of a recording of your
own voice sounds just like it's live and txing a recording of another
station is just like the original reception. Playing a recording of a
received transmission on speaker/phones is indistinguishable from live rx.

But one thing I would like to see is MON automatically switched on at a
predetermined level when txing a recording. This has been mentioned a few
times on the reflector and may already be on the firmware list. Perhaps Lyle
can confirm?

I confirm it has been mentioned and is somewhere on the list :-)
