KIO2 12 volt regulator

If you look up the data sheet, and under “Absolute Maximum Values” will reveal a clue.  The MAX 1406 shows a maximum value of 7 volts.  Wouldn’t hold my breath on it working if 12V applied.  There are other components involved also…
