KPA 100 Current too high?

Karsten Eppert (DK4AS)
KPA100 is aligned according to the manual.
When I key the K2/KPA100 up to 10 watts, current is up to 2 A. Looks normal.
Then I set the K2 to 11 watts (KPA100 engaded) Now current is approx. 6
Amps.

What are those 4 extra amps needed for?

When I set K2 to 20 watts, it consumes approx. 8 amps.
30 watts: 10 amps
50 Watts: 12 amps

Is that normal or is something wrong with my KPA100?

Karsten,

Are you measuring the current out of the power supply?  Or is that the
current displayed on the K2?

If it is the current from your power supply, then I suggest that you
re-check the bias adjustment for the KPA100.  See the KPA100 manual for
the procedure.

Yes, the additional 4 amps at 11 watts is unusual, and an incorrect bias
setting could produce that.
