KPA100 C31

wsm-3
I am in the process of building the KPA100 and see that there has
been some talk about changing C-31 to a .22uf capacitor instead of
the .033 capacitor. Was wondering if I should do this?
Thanks

RE: KPA100 C31

Scott,

It depends on how recent your KPA100 is.  If RFC10 and L15 are to be
installed, then it is just before the latest upgrade.  You can order the
upgrade (KPAUPKT) and build the KPA100 to the latest manual (now on the
Elecraft website) - the upgrade now contains the new C31.

If you have the older version with RFC10 and L15 included, *** DO NOT CHANGE
C31 *** - the voltage rating is not high enough to handle the old T-R switch
design.

The change to C31 IS NOT a mod by itself.
