KPA100 Update Mod

Roy Morris-6
I am getting ready to secure Q3 and Q4 to the heat sink.  I was using black fiber flat washers.  Now the instructions say to use split lock washers.   Am I supposed to eliminate the black fiber washers that completely fill the circumference of the screw holes and use split lock washers only?  Thanks for any comments.   Roy Morris  W4WFB

RE: KPA100 Update Mod

Roy,

I do not see any instructions in the KPA100 manual that indicate that fiber
washers are to be used on Q3 and Q4.  Use only the split lockwashers and all
will be well.  I have built many KPA100s and as far as I know, the fiber
washers are only used on the speaker.

Hi Roy,

I just completed my KPA100 the other night and I used just the split washers as per the instructions.  Keep in mind that when you tighten down the srews the the split washers compress and become mostly flat like the fiber washers.  Just don't over tighten them and crush Q3 & Q4.

IFR-1500 service monitor on ebay

N Skousen
I am selling an IFR-1500 Service Monitor on ebay  (item=320049555592).

I listed it here a couple months ago, with no success.  But would not
want any friends here to miss out if interested...
