KPA100 degrades sidetone?

As I start to use the new POWER I have, I'm noticing things.  Take the
sidetone for instance.
 
With the QRP K2, the sidetone sounds pretty good.  Put it through an
external audio filter and it sounds even better.
 
With the K2/100, the more power I run the more low thumps there are on
the sidetone.  Do you guys see the same (i.e. that's the way it is) or
is it just my setup (time to start looking for the problem)?
 
Yes, the LF thumps go away as soon as I hit 10 watts or below.  They
come back weakly at 12 watts and increase from there as power goes up.
I'm listening under headphones.

Moving the K2 further from the power supply (power unit)?  My PS is
already about 1 metre away from the K2 and I've had no problems in QRP
mode.  I'll try moving it farther away or closer to see if the sidetone
changes.

I would try to put the PU a bit away from youy rig. I had this too.
