One way is to use a USB?>Thunderbolt adapter; it appears that several years ago Apple changed something in the way USB2 is handled in the OS and the result is audio occasionally getting sent to the internet speakers instead of the USB Audio CODEC. That adapter thing is how I resolved it on my MacBook Pro. Another way, and the one I use on my iMac that does not have a Thunderbolt port, is to bring up the MIDI application and set the USB Audio CODEC input and output to 44100 Hz instead of the recommended 48000 Hz. That has cured it for me and many others. You could also try that on your MacBook instead of using an adapter - up to you.I like the adapter method, as it frees up my USB port for other ?stuff?.

That was not the point. I simply suggested it was a question I had every time a new ?Amp received? message was posted.  It was to satisfy my curiosity which several hams are doing.

The amp factors into our plans so I was trying to get a sense of projects coming up towards the Fall and Winter contest season. If we are already ploughing through the orders from the second week, that tells me something different for station planning than where we are now about how many minutes into the first day. Amp #52 was ordered 15 minutes after. Amp #56 was ordered 43 minutes after the ordering started. And yes, I know that is not necessarily linear as ordered came in from multiple channels.

The $6000 up front is not an issue as what else would it be doing except drawing ridiculous interest rates in a bank? Of course, if someone put the amp on a credit card and has been financing the purchase at 18%, then I could understand the consternation?but let?s hope no one that put a pre-purchase on a $6000 amp has to finance it long-term on a credit card :)
