KPA1500 Review on eHam

Stefan von Baltz, DL1IAO
Good to see the first reviews!

Can someone comment on the drive requirements?

The FCC document lists a worst case of between 75 and 80W input for 1500W output on some bands. This might be close to the limit of some exciters in RTTY. However, this is still less than the PowerGenius XL which seems to require the full 100W on some bands - again, according to the FCC doc.

There is one eHam review stating that "very little drive power is required".

Nominal drive power is 50 watts in for 1500 watts out. As with virtually all other amplifiers, drive power requirements can vary from band to band.
