KPA3 Power calibration

Evert Bakker (PA2KW)

Just a question about the power calibration of the K3as the procedure is not clear to me.

1)       Select 160 m.

2)       Set the power knob to 5W (on the K3-LCD display)

3)       Set the K3 in Tune

4)       Measure the output power with an external power meter (I’m using a LP100) into a 50 Ohm dummy (using a professional one).

And now: What to do if I have a difference between the commanded (5W) output and the measured output (say 7W) ???

Thanks in advance.

73’s, Evert PA2KW

The Low Power Wattmeter Calibration procedure described on page 48 of the manual. Followed by the Transmitter Gain procedure on each band.
