I discovered today that I didn't have my ALC properly setup. I had EXT ALC
set to OFF in the K3 and the ALC was at the default setting of 210 in the
KPA.
In adjusting the ALC I also discovered that it appears to be a per band
setting on the KPA500. I didn't see that mentioned in the KPA500 manual.
Also noted was a separate EXT ALC on/off for HF vs 6M in the K3.
For the most part I found that setting ALC threshold in the KPA500 at 150
was above the level needed to keep the KPA500 power from being reduced.
I also notice that sending my callsign will show a bit more power on the
peak reading power meter of the KPA than just driving it with a steady TUNE
button of the K3. Perhaps the K3 is sending a bit more then?
