KPA500 Kit Build

Jim Brown-10
I was another beta builder, and I did the deed on Saturday, in between a
bunch of honeydoos and a dinner in a restaurant.  I can confirm Ed's
comments about an easy assembly from a well written manual. Found a few
typos, but everything went smoothly, and I got a tour of the inside of
the amp. Very nice piece, well built. I took about four hours to do it,
including making notes of the typos.  Others might do it a lot faster.
:)   Only complaint is that Elecraft STILL doesn't understand the Pin
One problem.  The RCA connectors for ALC and PTT float from the chassis.
AARGH.

Buying this as a kit is strongly recommended.

One of the purposes of any beta process is finding things like typos and
other errors in documentation.  The fact that Elecraft has long been
quite serious about this is an important part of why the radios work
when we buy them.
