I saw this recently too. Have you tried hard power-cycle (i.e. using the switch on the back, not the button on the front) ? 73, ~iain / N6ML ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

This is what the KPA500 would normally look like when the front panel power
is off. It's the KPA500 boot block code's response. If the KPA500 is turned "on" and has a valid firmware load, it should respond differently. In that (off) state, the KPA500 seems to echo back anything you send
to it, unless it recognises a power on, or firmware load, command. e.g. if I send "^OS;", I get "^OS;" back. Presumably the utility is looking for a response like that, to determine the "off" state? If so, it would presumably infer this state from any device that echos back what it sent to its serial port, so if Phil had the Utility configured to talk to the wrong port, where such a device is connected, that could cause the symptom observed. Having thought about it some more, I now remember that I saw this message (in a popup window, as opposed to the status bar) when I had the KPA Utility pointed to the port that my KAT500 is now connected to. ~iain / N6ML On Mon, Oct 8, 2012 at 3:31 PM, Dick Dievendorff <[hidden email]> wrote: > This is what the KPA500 would normally look like when the front panel power > is off.
