KRC2 and Kenwood TS-590

Maarten-2
I am trying to make the KRC2 work with my Kenwood TS-590 radio.

So far I have followed all instruction manual and tried all the various
settings without success.

Anyone here has experience with making the KRC2 work with Kenwood.

Thanks N1DZ Maarten

Re: KRC2 and Kenwood TS-590

Blake
Did anyone ever answer this question?  I was given this answer when I asked elecraft if the KRC2/590 combination was possible:

"I believe the answer to your question is yes, but there is a big consideration. The connection must use the TS-590's COMM (RS-232) port and not the USB port. The user will then need a real serial port on the computer (or a USB serial adapter) which will connect to the KRC2. Also, serial port connection cautions as described in the KRC2 manual must still be observed - the KRC2 can be damaged with RS-232 voltages on pins other than its TxD and RxD connections."

I saw the word "yes" and got one.  Beginning to think this was a bad move, because I really have no idea what the remainder of this message means.

Tnx for your help,
Blake N4GI
