Hi,
using FW 3.03. KRX3 installed. Cable routed to Aux-Connecter not to KAT3. Is it possible to receive with main receiver on 80m at ANT2 e.g. and with sub receiver on 20m at ANT1. If I switch sub-receiver outside the band of main, it switches to aux connector. If I route the cable to KAT3 is it till then possible to use different antennas? 73 Frank DL2GRF |

Frank,
If the frequency on the main receiver is lower than that of the sub, you may be greeted by a message that says USE AUX. There is a Low Pass Filter associated with the main receiver (and transmit signal). If that low pass filter is also placed between the sub-rx and the antenna, higher frequencies will be severely attenuated - thus the message USE AUX. The Auxiliary antenna input to the sub does not have a low pass filter in the path. 73, Don W3FPR Frank DL2GRF wrote: > Hi, > using FW 3.03. KRX3 installed. Cable routed to Aux-Connecter not to KAT3. Don,
thank you for explanation! If I have selected on 20m main receiver to ANT1 (Beam) and switch the sub-receiver on 80m I have the chance to switch between AUX and ANT1. But not to ANT2 (80m Dipol). That´s not possible? Another question: At AUX connector I have an active antenna dx-one from RF systems. Transmitting during on air period is allowed from manufacturer. It would be not destroyed. But strong receive level coming through the aux input of K3. I think it is protected against own transmission. But if I transmit with an other transceiver he get the full rx level to sub receiver and could damage. What do you think? 73 Frank

Frank,
The AUX ANT input to the sub has a COR (carrier operated relay) included as a protective device. See the antenna routing configuration possible in the manual starting at page 41. If you hear a relay clicking as you transmit, you may want to check the amount of RF that is coming from your receive antenna. The K3 T/R switching is all electronic, no relays should operate. 73, Don W3FPR Frank DL2GRF wrote: > Don, > thank you for explanation!
