KRX3 installed, and a question

I installed the KRX3 subreceiver in my K3 last night/this morning. Things
went pretty well, with just a couple of trivial typos in the instructions. I
have the KRX3 configured on, and have just 1 filter, 2.8Khz in position FL2
at this time. All other slots configured off.

I have the latest firmware installed, and am learning the various controls.
It appears to work as advertised, with one exception. I have a distinctly
lower volume level coming from the KRX3. When using headphones, and the KRX3
listening on the main antenna, I have to set the sub volume about 30-40%
higher than the main volume knob to balance the levels. Both RXs using the
same filter (2.8KHz). Filter gain is set to zero on both. Is there any
simple config item I may have missed? I'd like to find the source of the
issue, rather than try to "hide" it by dialing in more gain into the sub RX
for this filter.

I'm off to assist another ham with an antenna, and will check for any
suggestions later this afternoon.

For the moment, ensure that MENU:AF GAIN is HI rather than LO.  We' just
found this and Wayne and I were just on the phone a few moments ago
discussing it. Yeah, I know, Sunday morning on a holiday weekend...

I just installed my new KRX3 and I do not have any audio.  There is no
hissing sound as there is when I use the main receiver.  In the Config menu
I have set ANT=BNC as I installed the TMP cable with the BNC connector to
allow me to do diversity work later.  In BSET I have the ANT set to MAIN.
When I tap the SUB button the SUB icon on the screen lights up.  SUB RF gain
is full clockwise.  What setting do I need to set or correct?  Is it
possible that it isn't plugged in correctly?  The two long screws that go
through the receiver mated easily with the standoffs below so I don't think
it could be displaced.

I look forward to having the second receiver for whenever the bands open up
again.

This sounds like what happened to me. I was set to CONFIG:SPKRS 2 but I
unplugged my stereo speakers during the installation and then began testing
using the internal speaker. Make sure you set CONFIG:SPKRS 1 if you are
trying to do that. The internal speaker only hears the main RX if you're set
for stereo.
