Mine came today too - sent on 8th received 25th (parcelforce as we all know and hate).
Installation took 3 hours, half an hour of that was trying to get it to work and understanding all the things that need to be set up. Instructions were excellent as we have come to expect. I think replacing the side panel could come after installing the headers for the KRX3. It would make it much easier to install them. Once installed there are some critical steps. A todo list would help here. Enable the KRX3. Turn off twice. Then the synth needs calibrating. The filter(s) need setting up. The antenna needs selecting - mine defaulted to aux effectively nothing. Then you have to work out how it works and how to gain the most. I hope to do that tomorrow. Mike |

I did read the preparing for operation section. That is how I knew to do the calibration of the synth and that I needed to set up the filters. These took a while because I had to remember how to do each task, having last done it last March. Setting antennas comes later and is not a tick-off item. What would help most is a simple list without any descriptive text, just to get everyone started. There is currently no quick-start guide.
On a related issue, I appear to have lost the date and time in doing the KRX3 installation. I am sure I set it OK before. Time was reset to midnight and the date was showing 00.00.00. Mike |

Ron, > Interesting about the clock. Did you install the cover over > the clock battery before installing the KRX3 module? Think a minute ... when installing the KRX3, the front panel is removed. Where is the battery? Of course the RTC will be reset - it is disconnected from the battery. 73, ...
