KUSB question

KB1PXD
Greetings everyone,
I'll be receiving my K3 tomorrow afternoon and I had a question in regards
to cabling for firmware updates.  I ordered the KUSB as I don't have a serial
port on my laptop.  Does the KUSB adapter include a cable and if not, what
kind of cable will I need? (standard straight-through RS232, etc.)

Thanks!

RE: KUSB question

Dick Dievendorff
The KUSB is a USB to Serial adapter cable, about 6' long, with a USB
connector on one end and a "shell" containing a DB-9 connector and some
electronics on the other end.  If 6' is long enough for you, then that's all
you need.

There's a picture of the KUSB in the K3 Utility Help.  You can install the
K3 Utility from the Elecraft web site before your K3 arrives.

Thanks Dick!  I didn't realize the cable was included as part
of the adapter.  Perfect.
