After completing assembly of a fully kitted KX1 but only trying occasionally to
make a contact I was able to muster up my first KX1 contact with mike on Long Island, NY. In fact, this is only my second contact ever. The first was when I was a Novice back in 1984, facilitated by a ham I met at a local ARC, I guess he was my Elmer, albeit briefly, who I believe set up a contact between me and a friend of his on his Kenwood 599 twins. Glad to be back. :-) kb3ipe (was ka2tue) dt . _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Dave,
Congratulations on your first QSO with the KX1 and your 2nd QSO ever! It's a very exciting thing to have someone answer you on a radio that you built and put together. Best of luck with your KX1 and hope you have many more QSO's! I've worked into several continents on my K2 and 2 or 3 watts.. pretty neat stuff!! 73s James KB2FCV In a message dated 7/15/2004 4:19:14 PM Eastern Daylight Time, David Toepfer <[hidden email]> writes: >After completing assembly of a fully kitted KX1 but only trying occasionally to >make a contact I was able to muster up my first KX1 contact with mike on Long >Island, NY. > >In fact, this is only my second contact ever.
