I read the list avidly but post very rarely. I had to post, though, to
announce the birth of KX1 #1116. The basic rig is completed and in fine working condition. All options are on the bench and waiting for solder. I haven't had the opportunity to make a maiden contact yet but I'm seeing a little more than 3 W at 14.100 MHz and a little more than 4 W at 7.100 MHz on a dummy load running from 13.8 V. The only thing I notice is that receive sensitivity seems a little lower on 20 meters than on 40, although that could have more to do with the antenna I was using than the rig. It was a full-wave 40-meter loop plugged straight into the rig, i.e. no ATU. Once again, I thank everyone at Elecraft for a fine product and an enjoyable building experience! 72, David, AD2A Glen Rock, NJ _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. David,
Great job! I have my KX1 (#1125) currently under construction, and I hope to finish the basic build this weekend. I am presently finishing up the receiver assembly. Good DX to you with your new rig.
