Ken,
Congratulations! I always enjoy the first QSO with a rig just built as one of the finest. I hope you will continue to enjoy your KX1 as much as I enjoy mine. 73 de Dave, W5SV [hidden email] wrote: >ITS ALIVE!! ITS ALIVE!! Could it be that your jack came with some hardware for panel mounting it that is unused? if that is what it is, in my opinion, throw it in your spare parts drawer as not needed on the KX1. There is a treaded hole above the paddle jack; the screw that fits that comes with the KXPD1 kit; it always goes into the top hole of the paddle, regardless if the paddle is set for right or left handed use, and it threads into that hole so that the paddle is retained and doesn't move around. The only other knurled screws I am aware of associated with the KX1 are those 2 black ones that hold the top and bottom together. >My key jack is flush with the front of the case... > Mine is too. > Is this normal? > > I think so; every KX1 and every photo I have seen of one look this way to me. >Ken K1UM > > Dave, W5SV > > > >>From: "David F. >My key jack is flush with the front of the case...
> Mine is too. > Is this normal? ------------------------------------ Yes. If you add the KXPD1 paddles, they plug into the jack and the metal housing sits flush against the side of the KX1 case, held in place by a knurled screw that fits in the adjacent threaded hole. You can also plug any paddle or key into this jack. 73, Wayne N6KR --- http://www.elecraft.com _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Ken, one or two more watts, not worth the effort. I won't increase your
