KX1 High ac on D2

Steve Watkins
Don, I connected a battery and now the readings are unstable... not consistent....rechecked the solder connections.

So, the high a.c. reading is now fluctuating, although I believe it may have been on the regular power supply.

Steve,

You should try another DMM, especially if yours is one of the
inexpensive variety.  I believe some of the inexpensive ones are only
intended to show AC voltages around the range of 115volt AC service and
cannot be relied on for low AC readings.

OTOH, you actually may actually have a problem with one of the
regulators. Does the AC go to zero or a very low value if you turn the
power switch to OFF?  If it does, one of the regulators may be
oscillating.  Check the DC voltages again, and check for AC at U1 pin 1
and U3 pin 6 - if you find AC at one of these last points, the regulator
is for sure oscillating.  Check the capacitors again and reflow the
solder connections with an iron temperature of 750 degrees.
