The response to my question about interest in KX1 cases
has been surprising. I've received only two, and one of the two is using a digital camera bag. I have a KX1 that is loaned by a owner who wants a case, and I'm thinking of something utilizing a K1 case with a protective internal pocket for his KX1, leaving room for extra "stuff". I'm still interested in comments from KX1 owners, however. 73! I have an unusual soft bag for my KX1. i received a small zipper bag after eye surgery with drops etc in the bag. My KX1 and paddles fit neatly in the bag. Like some other folks, I transport my KX1 in a small Pelican 1060 case
which provides room for paddles, earplugs and antenna fixings. It's perhaps a little bulkier than I'd like, but not much. A while back, I had the idea of making up a protective "cap" that would fit over the control surface and present a smooth face, to slip into most any carrying conveyance. I designed one in a CAD program, thinking that I'd get a prototype or two made on a 3D printer. This turns out to be prohibitively expensive - about $125 each, for a design that I don't know is correct! So I have set that project aside for now... but if someone has the ability to run such a thing more cheaply, I'd be happy to share the design. 73 de chris K6DBG ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
