The band was a little soft last night and i heard nothing out of K0EVH/pm in
MO.
Our attempt to work KX1/pm to KX1/pm has failed.
It was a cold night (40F) but no wind under a spooky moon lit night.
There were a few holing sounds and a few Bucks came through the
yard earlier. Those friendly velvet horns are not very friendly looking these
days..
i was on for a half hour working the ARS SP contest on 7040 area till 0230z.
Then i switched up to 7046 and after the RTTY QRM left i hooked a few
stations.
Here is my log... Not too bad for a dead night...40 meters Coast to
Coast...on a 10 foot whip.
W7OM Rod WA
K7TQ Randy ID
K5GQ Mark TX
K4LTA TN
WA8REI Ken MI
K3TW Tom MD
VE3DTQ John ON
AE6RF CA
No copy on W3FF Bud...
i also heard VE9DH
ps: it is really hard to log in the dark....
It is still amazing what a KX1 at 3 or 4 watts can do with a 10 foot whip,
Actually the whip is only 7 foot
at the point where the top hat is attached, every thing above that is
superfluous
for practical purposes.
i didn't want to try 80 meters, it was getting too cold.
Thanks to all who worked the weakest station on the band !
