Does anyone know if Elecraft plans to release the 2M module for the KX3 sometime in 2013? I have asked both Eric and Wayne that question on different email threads related to KX3 options, but no response has been received thus far. The 2M option had a lot of weight when I made the decision to buy the KX3 (sold a FT-897D to fund part of the purchased), and I would feel a little disappointed if I have to wait 2 years to enjoy that option.

Yes, after the KXPA100 and KXAT100 are released. Probably closer to Late Q2 as some of the same engineering team are working on both projects..

I personally don't know how you manage to get new products to market as quick as you do. Most of all when you do so many new ones so close together. I know structure and size have a lot to do with it but you seem to have them down pat with very few glitches with the products. 73, Fred/N0AZZ -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Eric Swartz WA6HHQ - Elecraft Sent: Friday, December 28, 2012 10:12 AM To: Robert Vargas (KP4Y) Cc: Elecraft Subject: Re: [Elecraft] [KX3]2M Module Yes, after the KXPA100 and KXAT100 are released. Any preliminary specs on the 2M module. All I can recall seeing is 3 watts output.. Will FM run at 3 watts or will power need to be reduced as in your transverters? What will be current requirement?

A number of external amps are already available in the market for QRP rigs if you want the 100W (e.g. TenTec model 418). Can we say the same about the internal 2M module?

I would have to agree with this one. Plus I think it just makes more sense
to essentially complete the bulk of the "internal" options before offering external options. ./ben W6MCM On Wed, Jan 2, 2013 at 10:59 AM, Robert Vargas (KP4Y) <[hidden email]>wrote: > A number of external amps are already available in the market for QRP rigs > if you want the 100W (e.g. TenTec model 418). Robert: If one is looking <only> for the occasional higher power output, I have been using a Tokyo Hy-Power 50w amplifier with my 12w K2 (and other QRP rigs) for some time now. Just half an S-unit (nominally) below 100w. I don't know if THP still makes the 50w amp, but I recall it as not being expensive at all. And extremely reliable. My two cents.
