KX3 #3933 Alive and kicking!

Hans Østnell
Hi group!

About 30 minutes ago I was finished with assembling my KX3 #3933 with KXFL3
and KXAT3! The rig works perfect, and WOW that receiver! Just listening
with about 25 feet of wire though the living room, hihi. Up here in the
Arctic we still have 5 feet of snow and no possibilities to do antenna work
for yet a few weeks or so, but when snow is gone I will erect my HyGain
DX-77.

What a lovely radio the KX3 is! Well done again Elecraft!

Thanks Steve!

I guess that my QTH on 70.25 degrees North, makes mine the northernmost
"residental" KX3, hi!

Hans

You're in for some big surprises with the KX3 I know that I have been for
sure and it continues by the day since I received it in Jan of this year.

My contacts keep increasing in distance it seems and from home (the SW
corner of MO.) using my vertical a AV-18HT most all the time on 10-80m. The
internal tuner is fantastic and will tune everything I have thrown at it.

Yesterday morning on 20m at 08:30 utc. I worked a VK2 with 10w and received
a 59 from him had to ask twice the second for the true report it was still a
59. Yes I know propagation but still 10w and I copied him at 59+ 20 at
1000w, I was well pleased. That was my first time that far into Oceania for
me. My 2 K3's sitting beside my KX3 are finding more free time lately same
for the Alpha. Did turn both on last week to work a new one VK9CZ and had to
wait the 5 min for the Alpha to warm up. I decided I needed to use the Alpha
after I couldn't break the pileup with the other K3 and KPA500 they were
very weak.
