KX3 CW message

W6PQL
OK, new user here...I'm using the KX3 as a driver for microwave transverters, I can't figure out how to get a recorded CW message to cause the radio to transmit the message unless I use CW VOX, which causes relays in the attached equipment to chatter. When I try to send a message after pressing XMIT, it just goes back to RCV mode. What have I missed?

Do you have it on QSK or semi-break-in?   You have to have VOX set to transmit CW but by setting a delay the rig won't go to receive between dits and dahs.
