5 amps may be more than you need for the KX3. Radio shack has a little 3 amp switching ps that I think is perfect. It's abt half the size and weight of the KX3. I think it sells for abt 60 bucks.

I don't believe you really need 5 amps, 3.5 or 4 should be plenty for the KX3 -- I'm running mine on a 12 volt 3.5 amp regulated wall wart right now and it works fine to 10 watts out.
Here's another one that isn't terribly expensive from Marlin P. Jones & Associates ( www.mpja.com). It's a 12 volt 4.16 amp supply with overvoltage protection and current limiting. It's original use was to power home medical CPAP devices (breathing mask for people with sleep apnea). These are listed as used, but they look pretty decent in their pictures. (disclaimer - I have no financial interest in MPJA, just a satisfied customer.) Lists for $12.95 plus UPS ground shipping.
