How do you get DVR on lsb/usb to work with KX3?
I press MSG/REC and it says N/A Following page 16 and page 21... cw it works lsb/usb it doesn't what am I missing? 72 Dom C5/M1KTA |

it's not available yet, thus the N/A. Still on the DSP firmware list of Lyle. How long? It is in the manual and been in all the blurb and on the web site for ages.
Grrrrr. I like the radio but had to wait for ages and seems some things like this missing. Did you read the ERRATA SHEET that came with your radio? It says, "
Manual Pg. 51: Some specifications are still shown as TBD (to be determined). These will be updated when final measurements have been completed. That is exciting for sure. I already love the noise blanker. Works amazingly well for only one setting. I must have gotten lucky!

We're working on the DVR feature right now. I'm sorry it has taken so long for us to get to it. At the time we wrote the product brochure, we thought we would have it in place within a couple of months, but many things came up that we didn't anticipate. Every release of the owner's manual includes an errata sheet showing which firmware features have not yet been implemented. The DVR has been on this list since the beginning, along with noise reduction and auto-notch. Since we had literally hundreds of requests to "hurry up and finish" the NR and auto-notch features, we prioritized those ahead of the DVR. (Until recently there had been very few requests for status on the DVR.) Of course the NR and auto-notch are now complete, so our DSP engineer and I are now digging into the DVR. It's quite a complex feature so I suspect it will take us until the end of September. As soon as we get it fully implemented, we'll be asking for some customers to help test it. Wayne, Absolutely. Apologies the frustration at not having the DVR was huge as I had a voice keyer I home brewed but I had assumed the KX3 had it included, which I now know it did not, grrrr! I am QRT from
6W and C5 and back in UK, unfortunately I did loose the voice for couple days, or rather spoke very quietly but activity on cw increased in C5 as conditions were lousy for a few days. I did/do love the KX3 btw... I am trying to figure out if I can obtain a second one as a 'spare' rig as when you are the DX and solo it is IMHO essential. Probably would manage without the internal ATU though in the second as I have a T1 and would take that, or swap the ATU from one rig to the other. One major niggle was it was very hot and humid was the power folded back several times, only additional cooling helped. I will add a finned heatsink, in place of the thick strip heatsink and a small copper 1U PC heatsink and fan when I get home as going from 10W to 3W mid SSB pile up was a tad annoying for everyone concerned! BTW I
managed to hit DXCC with the KX3 from 6W... not me I managed just 59 DXCC but I gave out 112 DXCC 'slots' so RX stations band/mode covered 112 DXCC, not bad for one week when QRP, and one of those days was just two hours from an IOTA /P with a buddipole :-) 72 Dom M1KTA
