When strong signals are present, the current NB (which is just on or off) can cause transient audio artifacts related to the opposite-sideband image. The new, adjustable NB uses a different algorithm with fewer artifacts, and in many cases no artifacts at all when lower settings are used. This adjustable NB is in the works.

Wayne, did you mean to say NR or is NB now also ajustable? I wish NB is as
adaptable as it is in K3. I always have to fight ignition noise when operating from a field. That is where NB similar to K3 would be useful. 73, Igor UA9CDC ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wayne Burdick" <[hidden email]> To: "bruce whitney" <[hidden email]> Cc: <[hidden email]> Sent: Wednesday, May 08, 2013 1:52 AM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KX3 Filter > When strong signals are present, the current NB (which is just on or off) > can cause transient audio artifacts related to the opposite-sideband > image.
