KX3 Macros

Jim GM
Hi I am just an old Newbie on this forum. Not up to date on all of the
discussions.

What Macros do you have your radios set up for?

CW DXing and Contests is what I do. Not into Digi or RTTY as of yet.

After 3 weeks using this radio I am still amazed on the performance and
what this radio can do. I is so tiny. I have been telling people it not the
looks what counts, its whats under the hood.

Re: KX3 Macros

For KX3:
- PF1 is set to toggle between "Packet" and "SSB" modes (including setting mode, levels, mic buttons, etc. Details here: <http://www.vk2rq.ampr.org/macros.html>)
- PF2 is set to turn Dual Watch on and off (eg. to crack that pile-up in a hurry)

For K2:
- PF1 is set to ATU so I can switch between "Auto" for QRP and "CalP" for QRO with KXPA100/KXAT100
- PF2 is set to sidetone level, haven't found anything better to set it to so far

For K3:
- browser has bookmark set to ordering page, so I can visit from time to time and try to convince myself why I really need another radio :-)

For IC7000:
- what are macros?

I have been chasing the W1AW/N stations.  Although I am using a K3, I set PF1 to do the following:

Tap A = B twice.
Enable split.
Enable the sub receiver.
Set VFO B to 1 kHz above VFO A.

PF2 resets everything back to normal.

This is very simple, but it has proven to be incredibly convenient. I wish I had discovered macros earlier.
