Joe,
Testing propagation on 80M in the daytime is a good project.
Often I test propagation on 630M in the daytime with a shortvertical.
A “ T “ antenna would be good for your test, if you can get enoughtop loading you
Would not need a base loading coil.
I ran 630M WSPR beacon last night , and was heard by manystations in EU.

I am planning to try this - the reason will become clear later. I want to use the KX3 in portable QRP operations on 80m, most probably during daylight hours.
Please, don’t tell me about the inefficiencies of short verticals on the low bands, or the propagation issues on 80m during daylight. These I understand. But I have a project in mind…..
My question is to ask if anyone on the list has ever tried this, and with what results? If any!
Thank you
