Is there anyway to use the KX3 running barefoot to SOTA spot? In a
number of recent SOTA activations cellular spotting has proved impossible and thus I'm unable to send in a SOTA spot. This makes activation difficult, particularly when band conditions are poor. I could by an APRS enabled handheld but it's a pretty costly option to provide another potential spotting solution. Thus, I was wondering whether is possible to spot using one the the KX3 digital modes and perhaps something stored in memory. 73's Gary ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

The RBN will find you, KU6J's server will match you against your alert window, and spot for you. Doesn't work on SSB, however on SSB, put a complete frequency in your alert so people will know where to wait for you. N4EX will find you and spot you. If you just put "14, 10, 12" in the alert you're a lot harder to find. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2014 Cal QSO Party 4-5 Oct 2014 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
