I use my KX3 almost exclusively for SOTA. I keep inadvertently managing
to get the display to switch from SWR/RF to CMP/ALC and can't find a quick way to switch it back. This occurs not just when adjusting Mic gain or CMP, although I do switch power levels sometimes. Initially I thought this problem was associated with Hi Curr (thanks for all the help on this issue) but it is not. Can someone help please? ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your response and, yes, this information is on page 15 of the C2 manual as well. However, this tells you how the CMP/ALC display mode gets activated. The problem I'm having is switching it back to SWR/RF. You should be able to do this by tapping the Keyer/Mic knob and this is working here on the bench this morning, however, in the field sometimes this does not seem to work and I end-up stuck in CMP/ALC mode. It might be finger trouble on my end but this has happened several times. Can you confirm tapping the Keyer/Mic knob is the only way to switch between these two display modes? Gary,
Early KX3s had nuts on the encoder shafts which made the switch action intermittent at times because the nuts interfered with full travel when the knob was tapped. So check for nuts on your encoder shafts - if present, remove them - they are not needed. 73, Don W3FPR On 12/22/2013 12:41 PM, Gary Hawkins wrote: > Hi Dave, > > Thanks for your response and, yes, this information is on page 15 of > the C2 manual as well.
