At Dayton, I asked that question and was told "less than $800 base"
for the "screwdriver kit" KX3 that will be available “by the end of
2011.”

For comparison, May QST quotes the “upgradeable 10W model” of the K3
at $1499.

I spoke with Eric today at HamCom. He said the basic KX3 will most
likely be in the $799-$899 range.
