KX3 fails to power on.

I've had this happen a number of times after I've unplugged the serial
cable.  Hasn't happened in a while though.  The only way to fix it is
what you did, remove one of the batteries.

Have checked the ribbon cable, even swapped one over from another KX3. If the KX3 is switched off for a couple of hours it will power up again. When I managed to power it up that seemed a good opportunity to reload the firmware which I did. After reloading the firmware I did the usual reboot only to be met with the 4 LEDs on again and no other sign off life. .
