Trying this message again, as it was wiped clean for having an active html
link. Sorry for the repeats. Recent discussions here have discussed ground loop isolators on the I/Q lines from the KX3. I figured I'd try the cheap route first, and am glad I did. The PAC ground loop isolator ( http://tinyurl.com/by839vk ) is less than $12 or so right now from Amazon, and made a 20 dB visible difference in my quick testing with a Creative Sound Blaster SB1095, running Quisk in Linux Mint 14. 73, Mike, KW1ND ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Sorry, should have specified - the noise floor. It not only dropped noticeably,
but smoothed out quite a few spikes. 73, Mike, KW1ND On 01/18/2013 12:43 PM, iain macdonnell - N6ML wrote: > On Fri, Jan 18, 2013 at 7:09 AM, Mike <[hidden email]> wrote: >> Trying this message again, as it was wiped clean for having an active html >> link.
