KX3 ground loop isolator

Mike B-12
Trying this message again, as it was wiped clean for having an active html
link.  Sorry for the repeats.

Recent discussions here have discussed ground loop isolators on the I/Q lines
from the KX3.    I figured I'd try the cheap route first, and am glad I did. The
PAC ground loop isolator ( http://tinyurl.com/by839vk ) is less than $12 or so
right now from Amazon, and made a 20 dB visible difference in my quick testing
with a Creative Sound Blaster SB1095, running Quisk in Linux Mint 14.

73,

Mike, KW1ND

20dB difference in what? Noise Floor? SNR? ...?

Re: KX3 ground loop isolator

Sorry, should have specified - the noise floor. It not only dropped noticeably,
but smoothed out quite a few spikes.
