KX3 keyer

John Griswold-2
I was practicing with the keyer at 15, and all was well, considering my
generally inept skill level. For my own amusement, I ramped up to 20
WPM, and after a few letters, the keyer got stuck and kept sending - - -
- until I hit the paddles again.

I have to believe that it's something I'm doing, but is there a known
issue? I do not have the skill to send at 20 - I am just checking. I
managed to reproduce this at 17, but it's much more difficult. At 20, I
can confuse the keyer quite easily.

Thanks -
John KK1X

PR6 6m pre-amp

'DGB'
I have my PR6 preamp hooked up per the docs. I don't have the 6m ant
connected to ANT2 on the rig (as I've seen in other docs) as I have it
connected to the KAT500 ANT2 and have the KPA500 in-line as well. I have
the KAT configured automatically switch to ANT2 when the rig is switched
to 6m. I also have a 160m rcv antenna connected to the BYPASS IN on the
preamp and have DIGOUT1 configured to ON on the 6m band and OFF on all
the other bands. Nothing is connected to BYPASS OUT. I notice an
increase in gain when keying the RX ANT in when on 6m. There are no sigs
on 6m right now so I'm wondering if it's working correctly.

Can I assume that the PR6 is seeing the 6m antenna thru the tuner and amp?

Unplug the antenna from the tuner and see if the noise level drops.

I got a few responses off line - thank you all. Turned out it was
mechanical - I readjusted my paddles, and the problem went away.

Great group of people here - Thank you all.
