Re: KX3 kit shipping estimate

Edward R Cole
The assembly manual has just been released,  We can hope KX3 kits
will begin shipping.

I skimmed thru the assembly manual and does not look too difficult
after assembling a DEMI 432 MHz transverter and only 18-page, 84 step
manual and about 89 components which about 50+ were sm.  It took me a
leisurely week to complete.

Since I ordered on 27Dec 3+ hours after the start, it's obvious those
that ordered assembled radios days later than kit orders are getting
earlier delivery.  Hopefully, this will change fairly soon.

I was so stoked to see that there was an order on the list that said
his / her order date was Dec 30th unknown time. That is a big jump. I
ordered mine on the 31st so I got to be getting close. Very excited
as this will be my biz travel radio. Now need to find a good super
ultra penultimatr portable Yagi for 6m that can fit in a standard
pelican case.  Any ideas?

I didn't order my kit till Jan 9th, :(

I bet kits ship out faster than factory builds.  Hopefully they have been stock piling kits while the manual was being refined.  Maybe a couple hundred will go out on the 18th!

I went back this morning to the tracking list and the date of Dec 30th was changed to Dec 28th.  So whoever entered it went back and changed it to the actual date.  So I am guessing the wait for my Dec 31st order is likely still much longer than I thought it was only a couple days ago.

12/27...  I was in the middle of buying some transformers in Akihabara and
literally dropped everything to fill out my order with my iPhone while
standing at the register... :D

Re: KX3 order backlog

Jim Low man
I wondered if Akihabara was the same as it was back in the early 70s.
It was a kit builder's paradise.  Pick up a basket at one end of the
bazaar,
grab as many of each component as desired, and pay at the end.
No blister packs here!
