Greetings: I just subscribed although I've been an Elecraft customer for a long time (K1, K2 with all accessories, etc). I built a KX3 over the Christmas holidays and am just now getting a chance to use it. 2 questions..... Is it normal to have noise that is "tuneable" especially across 40 meters? (that is is is frequency specific.... with the antenna DISCONNECTED)? It raises the s-meter one or 2 units when tuning.. This is NOT noise from the local area. Also, my unit seems to be "microphonic" in that if I lightly tap the case a LOT of crackling comes from the speaker. This seems to get much worse if I don't have the case screws tight. I am a very experienced builder and Motorola bench tech so am not new to RF. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS! Allen, W0OUU
