KX3 testing

hhoyt
Eric, Wayne;

I would like to use the KX3 as a signal source for extended periods, in
the order of 10-15 minutes or more.  Other than the noted power-foldback
with PA temp characteristic, is there any other component in the KX3
design which would not be happy with an extended transmit use?  I can
work around the power foldback with PA temp issue, but would hate to
degrade or risk failure of another internal component in this use.

Thanks in advance,

Howard Hoyt - WA4PSC

Howard,

I am not Eric or Wayne, but the KX3 is specified for continuous duty at
3 watts, so if your output power needs are at 3 watts or less, you
should be able to go keydown all day long at that power level.

You can key down as long as you like, assuming you don't hit the PA's
temperature limit (which causes an exit from transmit mode).
