The latest production F/W revision for the KXPA is 1.35. The KXPA utility, however, which correctly notes that 1.35 is available, will not download it for me. I get the message “Your folder has the most recent . . .” But what I have is 1.32.
Version 1.35 requires the latest KXPA utility, which I believe I also have – rev. 1.14.4.11 (for Mac OSX). In any case that’s the most recent version listed on the Elecraft site. Any ideas about what I might be doing wrong – or what I can do to download 1.35? Thanks in advance. blockquote, div.yahoo_quoted { margin-left: 0 !important; border-left:1px #715FFA solid !important; padding-left:1ex !important; background-color:white !important; } If the Utility shows 1.35 is "Available", then it has already been downloaded. You just need to send it to the KXPA.

Dick and David --
Thanks for your good counsel; I do appreciate your taking the time to help. I’ve solved the problem but in a way that defies explanation. On a hunch I decided to reload the F/W in the KX3. I know that was up to date, but because I use the KXPA PC connection to connect the KXUSB to the computer for both the KXPA and the KX3, I thought . . . well, it can’t hurt. But momentarily it did hurt. Trying to reload the KX3 F/W with the KX3 Utility resulted in a hang up. Unable to shut down without removing a battery, and then experiencing a continuing hangup even after the manual’s suggested restart. Multiple times - the Utility reported no communication between the computer and the KX3. So, on another hunch (or out of desperation) I unplugged and reseated everything and then I reloaded the KX3 utility – even though the one I had on board is the latest. Did that; tried the F/W reload on the KX3; and that worked. Then back to the KXPA Utility, tried to download the new F/W rev for the amp – and that worked! And people say the business I’m in is mysterious and arcane . . . . Many thanks. Hope you had a great holiday. See you in the CQWW CW. I’ll be on with an updated KX3 and KXPA. Ted, KN1CBR Edward A.
