[KXPA100] Inventory question - spacers

Bernie Wills
In several places in the KXPA100 Assembly Manual, including diagrams and
the inventory, reference is made to spacers 1/4" (6.4 mm) long. The
inventory lists 24 of these in the kit. It seems that the size should be
specified as 1/8" (3.2 mm). This is the size I have measured for the
spacers supplied.

One spacer and a split-ring lock washer are to be fitted onto a 4-40
5/16" (7.9 mm) pan head screw when assembling the U-cover, end plates
and the corner feet/bumpers. This combination looks like it would do the
job, with a few mm of thread exposed to screw into the U-cover or heatsink.

If the spacers are truly meant to be 6.4 mm long, there would be
insufficient thread exposed for attachment.

I have not found any reference to this anomaly and thought the question
should be asked.

Regards,
Bernie.

Bernie,

Yes, the length is 1/8 inch (3.2mm).  I guess someone had a magnifier
when the manual was written :-) .
Look for an *errata* coming to the Elecraft website soon!
