KXPD3 Upgrade - An Opinion

stan levandowski
I received the KXPD3 Upgrade Kit for my serial number 0325 today.  Easy
modification; no problems.

I installed the "light" spring (E980239).

In my opinion, and comparing it to the week I was able to spend with a
Begali "Adventure" prototype last month,  it now compares quite
favorably.

I should mention that I am a non-iambic slapper; the squeeze keyers may
have different opinions.

It's still not a Begali but it's certainly a much improved product.

Nice follow-through, Elecraft!

Re: KXPD3 Upgrade - An Opinion

My KXPD3 arrived today and I installed the "Light" spring and new
contacts and had much better accuracy after the upgrade than I did
with the original setup.

Impressive!
