KXV3A vs KXV3?

Gary Smith-2
Is there a link to info on the benefit of the A version?

I just reviewed the order page & see there is the upgrade for this.
I've been out of the loop awhile & wonder if this upgrade would be of
interest to me.

Thanks

Gary

The A version is only needed if you wish to install the internal 2
Meter transverter.  Essentially the only difference is the addition of
an IF in and IF out connector on internal TMP connectors.  If you
never plan on using the 2 Meter internal transverter there is no
reason to upgrade.

Gary - An upgrade to the KXV3A is necessary if you want to install the
K144XV internal 2 metre transverter.  As far I am aware there are no
other advantages over the more recent KXV3 units. In February 2008 a
small daughter board was fitted to the Rev.A KXV3 boards to improve
receiver antenna isolation. (RXA mod kit). Rev.B KXV3 boards have this
mod incorporated.

Thanks to the off list reply I just got I understand it's necessary
for the 2 meter option. At this time I'm not going to be adding that
so mystery solved.

Thanks,

Gary
