Is there a link to info on the benefit of the A version?
I just reviewed the order page & see there is the upgrade for this. I've been out of the loop awhile & wonder if this upgrade would be of interest to me. Thanks Gary KA1J ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
The A version is only needed if you wish to install the internal 2
Meter transverter. Essentially the only difference is the addition of an IF in and IF out connector on internal TMP connectors. If you never plan on using the 2 Meter internal transverter there is no reason to upgrade. ~Brett (N7MG) On Wed, Jun 22, 2011 at 2:48 AM, Gary Smith <[hidden email]> wrote: > Is there a link to info on the benefit of the A version? > > I just reviewed the order page & see there is the upgrade for this. > I've been out of the loop awhile & wonder if this upgrade would be of > interest to me. > > Thanks > > Gary > KA1J > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Gary - An upgrade to the KXV3A is necessary if you want to install the
K144XV internal 2 metre transverter. As far I am aware there are no other advantages over the more recent KXV3 units. In February 2008 a small daughter board was fitted to the Rev.A KXV3 boards to improve receiver antenna isolation. (RXA mod kit). Rev.B KXV3 boards have this mod incorporated. 73 de David G4DMP In a recent message, Gary Smith <[hidden email]> writes > >Is there a link to info on the benefit of the A version? > >I just reviewed the order page & see there is the upgrade for this. >I've been out of the loop awhile & wonder if this upgrade would be of >interest to me. -- + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + | David M Pratt, Kippax, Leeds. | | Website: http://www.g4dmp.co.uk | + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Thanks to the off list reply I just got I understand it's necessary
for the 2 meter option. At this time I'm not going to be adding that so mystery solved.
