I acquired a nice MC-50 today and thought I would try it with my K3. It does work and sounds good in the monitor but does not have enough oomph to drive the rig to full power even with the mic gain at max. Has anyo9ne had any success using this mike with the K3? I am very happy with the reports I get with the stock MH2 hand mic but it would be nice to use this beautiful old MC-50 also.
Another thought I had was putting an electret element in the MC-50 as I have a couple of the radio Shack elements that I understand work well with the K3.
Thoughts appreciated.
